Cooperation with Firms and Non-Profit Organizations

Contact to and cooperation with firms and non-profit roagnizations allows our doctoral students to see how EBE techniques are applied in the private sector, and to develop ideas for applied research projects. As not all our graduates will take up an academic career, we additionally try to expose our students early on to the private sector examples of private companies that explicitly look for graduates trained in the EBE paradigm.

Examples of private companies that explicitly look for graduates trained in the EBE paradigm.

  • Bristol Myers-Squibb: A global pharmaceutical firm with a strong presence in Germany
  • MunichRe: The world market leader in the re-insurance industry
  • My Finance Coach:  A non-profit initiative, aiming to improve and increase the financial literacy of children and youth
  • TWS Partners: Germany’s leading auction design consultancy

The MunichRe Foundation supports research in various areas. Of particular interest to the IDK is that the MunichRe Foundation coordinates global micro-insurance networks. Micro-insurance is now considered one of the most important instruments for economic development. Studying its impact (often with field experiments) requires applying the EBE methodology.

The GfK Verein is the research branch of the Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung (GfK), a globally leading producer of detailed data on consumer decisions.
