Gender and Diversity

Within the graduate program, we will install a number of specific measures to ensure gender equality:

  • The graduate program will support graduate students with children by providing home-office equipment and by providing or subsidizing child-care to facilitate participation in scientific conferences and other professional events.
  • The graduate program will include a structured mentoring program, following the example of LMU’s successful LMUmentoring program that has been funded by the Institutional Strategy LMUexcellent in the first round of the Excellence Initiative. Female mentors will be drawn from the participating faculties and partner organizations.
  • Special counseling to prepare women for academic careers will be available, for example in the form of dedicated seminars that encourage informal exchange among female researchers and doctoral students.
